There is no doubt that our country, Pakistan, the land of Pure, is full of every type of resources, ranging from minerals to highly qualified professionals. In recent years, many of our sharp brains prefer to pursue their career in foreign countries like Germany, Canada, and the United States.
There was a very clear reason behind this. First of all, I remember that when a reporter asked the former caretaker of Punjab, Mr. Mohsen Nakhvi, about his comments on the high number of images. The reporter argued that over 50,000 doctors left Pakistan in 2023, and Mohsen Nakhvi said that he did not get about it and said that what happened then if 50,000 doctors have left Pakistan?
So, we came across the point where the political uncertainty and lack of focus on offering privileges to highly skilled professionals. Most of our professionals are preferring to work in foreign countries, especially Europe and Canada, because there, they do not only get high salaries, job security, and financial resources enough to support their families, but also they are recognized as respectful figures in that country.
In Pakistan, we remain failed to open the job positions enough to fulfill the job requirements of all of our skilled professionals. Let us pose as there are 1 million skilled professionals seeking jobs in Pakistan, and only 1,000 positions are available for that post. Then, I do not think anyone who knows that he can do something while living in the foreign world would prefer to stay in Pakistan.
Moreover, in Pakistan, the most dangerous thing behind this was the lack of job security. We know that many foreign countries, especially the European countries, offer a high level of job security to their employees, and they cannot fire their employees without any solid reason. Especially Germany is top of the list. In Pakistan, there is nothing like job security or emergency funds provided by our government.
There is no blame on the government because our Pakistan is suffering from bad crisis financially. But when foreign countries are offering not only job security but also emergency funds in case of losing the job there, why would someone prefer an underdeveloped country like Pakistan?
The government can address this issue in our strategic way. They should open a lot of job positions in the government public sector. More than 75% of our technical staff working as government servants is recruited by political influence, and most of them don’t even know about the work they had to do. The government should retire such corrupt figures because I believe that if you want to do something that you cannot do through illegal means, then it is also corruption.
If the government is willing to introduce a lot of job security without increasing the financial burden on its budget, then it should eliminate all these people from the government sector and let the highly skilled qualified persons in.
Moreover, it is not impossible but very difficult for Pakistan to manage emergency funds or job security for qualified people because our country is nowadays very bad in condition. It can only be possible if the worker and companies contribute from their profit to such a job security scheme.
Moreover, the government can give loans to the starters so that they could improve their chances of survival because mostly starters in Pakistan are unable to survive more than half a year. In this way, there will be a lot of job opportunities available to skilled professionals. But when it comes to the private sector, then every company will try to recruit a person who is 100% according to their expectation or more than their expectation.
